ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

MADE TO BE REAL.

Original 3D design and FDM fabrication for cosplay props, display pieces, functional objects and personalised commissions - developed hands-on from concept to something you can actually hold.

WHAT DRIVES THE WORK

TAKE AN IDEA.
MAKE IT REAL.

Redsplat3D combines a background in technology and digital development with a passion for 3D design, fabrication, cosplay and practical problem-solving. The enjoyment is in taking an idea from a rough concept through design, prototyping and refinement until it becomes something that can actually be held, used, displayed or worn.

The approach is hands-on and experimental. It isn't just about making something look right - it's about understanding how it works, how it can be manufactured, how it feels to use and what can be improved.

AREAS OF FOCUS

WHAT GOES
INTO THE BUILD.

Three connected practices run through every project - design, fabrication and the engineering that makes a prop work in the real world.

01 / 03

3D DESIGN & FABRICATION

Physical 3D-printed products made using FDM printing, primarily in PLA and other practical materials where appropriate. Projects span cosplay accessories, display pieces, functional props, personalised items and original designs - covering the complete process from concept and geometry through to printing, assembly, finishing and testing.

02 / 03

DESIGN, PROTOTYPING & DEVELOPMENT

Every project is an opportunity to experiment. Some ideas start as a simple sketch; others develop through CAD modelling, test prints and repeated adjustments. Prototyping reveals weaknesses and improves fit and function.

03 / 03

COSPLAY & PROPS

The engineering behind costumes and props matters as much as their appearance - how something attaches, assembles, how durable it needs to be, and how it stays comfortable while worn or displayed. Lighting, sensors, magnets, switches and other small electronic elements are explored where they add something meaningful.

02 / THE MINDSETDIGITAL THINKING / PHYSICAL OUTPUT

BEHIND THE APPROACH

FROM DIGITAL IDEA
TO PHYSICAL OBJECT.

A background in web development and digital technology shapes the way physical design is approached - breaking problems down, understanding how parts interact, and making the whole system work.

Problems get broken down into components, working out how they interact and how the overall system can work more effectively. A prop might involve several separate printed components, mechanical connections, electronics and finishing processes.

Digital tools and structured design workflows are used to explore ideas, investigate problems, develop concepts and refine the design process. The technology supports the creative work, while the finished object - designed, printed, assembled and developed with real-world use in mind - remains the point.

03 / COMMISSIONS & QUALITYBUILT FROM A BRIEF / REFINED EVERY TIME

PERSONALISED & COMMISSIONED WORK

BUILT FROM YOUR BRIEF.

Alongside its own designs, Redsplat3D develops personalised physical products for individuals, businesses and creative projects - custom-branded pieces, mascots, display models, event items, personalised accessories or small-batch products.

Working from a brief and turning something that exists only as an idea into a physical object is the part of the process that's most enjoyed.

QUALITY & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

EVERY PRINT TEACHES SOMETHING.

FDM printing has its limitations, and part of the process is understanding them. Layer lines, tolerances, supports, material behaviour, print orientation and post-processing can all affect the final result.

Designs are continually tested and refined to improve appearance, strength, usability and reliability.

HOW THE WORK HAPPENS

TAKE AN IDEA. MAKE IT REAL. THEN MAKE IT BETTER.

Curious, persistent and naturally inclined to take things apart to understand how they work - figuratively speaking. Whether developing a new product, refining a cosplay prop, creating something personalised or experimenting with a completely new idea, the aim stays the same.

Redsplat3D is where digital design, practical engineering and creativity come together to produce physical things that people can actually enjoy, use and display.
